Meet Your instructor Catherine Stowel ultrasound specialist extraordinaire!
Catherine Stowell is an ultrasound specialist from the United Kingdom. She has been teaching ultrasound to veterinarians and breeders worldwide since 2011, as well as using this technology in her own clinical work. Catherine regularly scans at a local veterinary practice, as well as scanning human cardiac patients (using both transthoracic and transosophageal echocardiography). In her teaching, she specializes in small animal pregnancy and cardiac scanning.
Catherine has a Master's Degree from Imperial College in Medical Ultrasound. She is an accredited sonographer with the British Society of Echocardiography and is a co-author on papers in peer-reviewed academic journals on 1) the use of artificial intelligence to aid human operators when performing ultrasound measurements, and 2) tricuspid valve repair during mitral valve surgery.
In 2018, she published an Amazon number one best-seller, ‘Ultrasound in Canine Pregnancy Scanning.’ She currently works as a Research Sonographer at Imperial College (London), and her focus is on ultrasound education and artificial intelligence.
